Hi
I have asked once, thought i'd try one more time as i can't find any information other than the scrap at the back of the brochure about Vow renewal, has anyone done this on ship? I was wondering what was involved and if there was a choice of type of service?? any info would be appreciated. Got the dress got the Tux now got the butterflies.
ALSO
we have been upgraded to Dolphin deck but its right at the front, is it better to be in the middle for the least movement? and are the inside cabins really small?
25th Wedding anniversary.

:wave Carole...sorry not to have more info on the renewalof vows....a very nice fellow left a phone number on the other posted site for you for the Princess renewal coordinator..as for the rooms..the more to the middle of the ship the lesser movement felt..and yes the inside cabins are smaller..much smaller..I have done them 1x and it was fine..hey I was on a cruise..but if you can have a window or balcony it will greatly increase IMHO your special anniversary cruise experience..it's kind of where YOU want to put your $$..:)..so good luck ..hope you get more answers..take care..:)..Joanne

Hi Carole
I'm in the same boat as you (so to speak) We are renewing our vows on the Golden first two weeks in September.
Very excited but so apprehensive. Just like you I've got the dress (and after a lot of whingeing and moaning .. hubby's got the Tux) But its just me and him i'm worried we might be making too much fuss with little or no input from Princess.
I'm sure the Dawn will be very much the same procedure so we can keep in touch and let each other know.
Let me know when you are off.

Hey Carol :)

My hubby and I renewed our vows last summer in Alaska on the Dawn Princess. Unless things have changed, you don't have options for different types of services. They do have different renewal packages, I believe. We did the full package.........we had special canapies in our room every evening; a corsage; I did special flowers as an add-on; champagne; Princess champagne flutes; a framed photo; and a copy of the renewal vows signed by the captain.

Here's how it worked for us. We were told to contact the purser's deck once we were onboard to determine the day and time of the renewal. I also immediately contacted our room steward to get my dress steamed. They set up the renewal on the first formal night, which was great because everyone in our family was already planning on dressing for the formal night. ( they didn't have to dress again ). Depending on how many people are set up for renewal, they'll give you a set time to show up. We were all ushered into a special room one couple at a time. They had the room set up for the vow renewal and had music playing.

We had a Scottish captain perform our ceremony and it was wonderful! There wasn't a dry eye in the room! Even the other Princess employees were choking up. They have a photographer there, but you can also have your family take pictures afterwards. It was a special moment and worth every penny! Afterwards, at formal dinner, they brought us a cake. Now, I could be wrong, but it seems that we paid extra to have more of a small version of a wedding cake made, rather than the standard one layer cake they use for bdays, anniversarys and the like.

Congratulations on your upcoming renewal. This moment was so special to us! It's one thing to marry someone, but to say you'd do it all over again, to me, was even more emotional and meaningful. If I can help with answering any other Q's, please let me know!

Cheers!

Hi Stufus :)

Don't worry about Princess not making a fuss. I had the same worries and Princess came through with flying colors. I just posted to Carol's post, but some of that info might be helpful to you, as well. My advice is to contact the purser/wedding coordinator once you check into your room. Let them know you're onboard and want to confirm when and how things will happen. When I made the initial call onboard, I was informed that someone would call me back to confirm my time. The way I understood it, they have "X'" number of people doing renewals and they set everyone up, back to back. So, call early so you'll maybe get your pick of times. We didn't feel rushed at all. It was just enough time. Afterwards, we had my family take photos in various parts of the ship. Everyone thought it was a wedding. I totally felt like the Belle of the Ball that day! Wonderful experience!!!! All the best to you! Again, feel free to post any other Q's you have! :)
