Greed is the caused!

Thanks for your reply but I respectlfully diagree with these:

Fact #1: NO DOCTOR can write a prescription for ANYTHING if the patient has never been evaluated by the doctor. This is sort of my pet peeve, since I have been asked more than a few times to "call in a prescription for Mr. --- who forgot to bring his medication from his home." In most states, writing a prescription for anything for a non-patient (person who is not YOUR patient) is against the law.

The patient pocesses a valid prescription written by her Dr. in the States. All she need was to fill in the presribed drug. I don't see why the Cruise Clinic who has the drug cannot sell it to her. Surely the Dr. who made that prescription is responsible and not the ship Dr.

Fact#2: As someone said, providing any medical care (writing prescriptions, or even measuring blood pressure) to a person constitutes "medical care" under the law in the U. S., and if the receiver of the medical care has any adverse consequence secondary to it, the physician could be responsible.

Do you think anyone will die from just taking a high blood pressure reading and the Dr. will get sued? Give me a break It's the greediness of the Medical Practice in America that make me sick. What adverse consequence can result from taking a blood pressure reading.Sounds like you're the type who will always nickel and dime the patient to death with the law as an excuse to get richer. Greed is the truth here. Where are human compassions these days?
