Seems to me that one thing happened to ruin your whole cruise.  That ONE thing was basically your friend getting burned by the sun, something which Celebrity Cruise Line has NO control over.  YES, shipboard medical treatment is very expensive, but would you rather receive treatment in some third-world country with no medical standards?  Overbilling (or mis-billing) is very common practice in ALL medical fields, not just on ships.  That is one reason our insurance premiums are so high.  This is one very good example of why we should all choose the very inexpensive cruise insurance which would have most likely covered any expenses your insurance company did not.

As for location of the room, who picked out the inside cabin location?  Did you pick it out, your TA, or did you opt for the "run of the ship" special and take that risk?  If your friend has this hearty condition which would be worsened by electronic equipment, it seems only logical to better investigate cabin location before booking.

Everyone has a bad story or two to tell about various cruises.  I personally think that the premier industry awards (such as Conde Nast) say it best when they rank Celebrity ships as the best in their category.  If you had a sour experience, perhaps you should return to anothy line - or - simply do your homework better beofre choosing a cabin.

Cabin placement is not restricted, the cruise lines, believe it or not, will allow YOU to choose where you wish to be.  In the future, choose wisely & enjoy cruising!
