"MSC Cruisesis the company with the greatest growth in a short time-frame," said Pierfrancesco Vago, CEO MSC Cruises states. "We are the only company in the world with a single brand which, in thespace of a few years, has increased the size of its operation this much. We have opened additionaloffices and we are represented in 31 countries worldwide. MSC Poesia testifies to a further step in ourexpansion plan. This ship reflects perfectly the balance of her space-ratio in terms of the public andprivate areas. Her space is equally distributed and conceptualised to offer guests maximum comfort inthe restaurant, by the pool deck, in the lounges as well as in the cabins. The interiors, too, are inperfect harmony with the choice of the neutral colour scheme for the windows and verandas that facethe exterior and in this way will not alter the naturally beautiful colours of the interior spaces. MSCPoesia represents an improvement on the projects that have been completed so far, another step aheadtowards perfect design and technical fit-out as well as safety on board and safeguarding theenvironment."

"The success of our ships," said Emilio La Scala, General Manager MSC Cruises Technical Division, "is the proof of the intense work effort that the Technical Department has invested inconjunction with the technical staff at Aker Yards and with our Design Studio. All possible innovationshave been implemented to ensure that our guests receive the best in terms of facilities andcomfort. After four years of close cooperation, we are satisfied with work well done. In a shortspace of time three different classes of ships have been built (Lirica, Musica and Fantasia). Four newships have been launched between 2003 and 2007. At the same time another four ships of two differentclasse, are being built. A demanding schedule that will see eight new ships in the fleet by2010. The technical input has been ongoing, and we are always seeking to improve on the previous achievement. Wehave worked to tight schedules and delivered on time with one clear objective: the continualimprovement of the fleet."

"We have built six cruise ships for MSC and we still have four ships to deliver. This symbolizes not only the success of MSC Cruises but also the strong relationship between Aker Yards and MSC Cruises", saidJacques Hardelay, General Manager of the Aker Yards France.
