I just checked the "News" section on NCL's website, and guess what? There's no mention of the engine problem on the Dream. A report I saw on a maritime news website says that the ship has been operating on less than full power since March, when a broken crankshaft put one of the main engines out of commission.

It says that a new crankshaft has been ordered, but that doesn't make me feel much better. I fear that NCL will put off any repairs until the end of their European season in September. If so, it looks like our Baltic cruise this summer on the Dream will be slow and probably incomplete. Some scheduled ports are already being bypassed.

Let's hope that none of the other engines fail before NCL gets around to fixing the broken one.
