We will be sailing on the 'Star' in a couple weeks. We thought Tequila's would be a fun place to dine on the first night.

My question is, are nice shorts appropriate there? I would not wear shorts to any of the main dining rooms for dinner but wasn't sure about 'Tequila's'.

I was just on the Star Princess. The first night people seems more casual than most other nights. Nice shorts would be acceptable, but they clearly state that Shorts are not appropriate in the Dining Rooms for dinner. Just do it and do not worry. Noone will say anything. Are you using PC dining?

Thanks Frank! I am a real stickler for appropriate attire.

This cruise we are going 'personal choice'. In the past we have felt, early was sometimes too early but late was definitely too late. This will give us some flexibility.

Read my review on my March 29th cruise. It's Franks Star Princess. If you like to eat around 6:45PM to 7:15 PM go directly to the Capri Dining room. The wait was only 5 minutes at that dining room. The wait at the Portofino dining room is much longer. Some people had 30 minute waits. I hope the comedian "Sarge" is on your cruise. He plays every other Star Princess cruise. Everyone thought he was great. Do not miss him. If you have any other questions, just ask.

Are you talking about the Painted Desert, the Southwestern restaurant? If so, it seems to me the dining room dress code (no shorts for dinner) would apply.
