We are a family of 5 planning our first Carnival cruise for August. We have cruised on the Disney before and know the ins and outs for that cruise, but know nothing about Carnival. We wanted to know what the dress code is for dinner. Are dress shorts appropriate or do you have to wear pants and collar shirts? Hubby doesn't like to dress and wear ties while on vacation. I also read about a formal night and wondered how formal does it have to be. We are not interested in going to the captains cocktail. We just want to eat in the dining room and wondered if we would need to skip the dining room on the formal night. Are there any specific items anyone would recommend us to take on this cruise? We are also planning to stay in a cabin with an ocean view. Are we going to be packed like sardines or will we be okay? Anyone ever stayed 5 in an ocean-view cabin? What about the bathrooms? Have not seen a single picture or description of the size of the bathrooms in these cabins. I know it will be smaller than the Disney cabin we stayed in, but just wanted some idea. Getting excited and want to get all info possible so we will be ready!
