Early flights out of Vienice from Golden

We are going on the 8/18 Barcelona to Vienice cruise. Our friends have a 6:00 a.m. flight from Vienice. Do they clear the ship that early? They will have to disembark by 4:00 a.m. to catch the flight! The air was booked by Princess. Does anyone know how this works? The also have Princess transfers. Thanks! Amber

I assume the ship arrives in Venice the day before your friends' flight home? If so, yes, they can leave the ship at 4am to go to the airport.

Hey - we are also cruising on 8/18 from barcelona to venice - on ruby princess. Trying to get some planning ideas from past/present travellers on the ports of call. i.e. best way to get excusrsions i.e. hire a cab to take us to places such as florence/pisa etc... We paired up with another family on our last cruise and really made travel/sightseeing very cost efficient.

Now...a word of advice. August is THE vacation month in Italy. Many services are cut back. If you're travelling a good distance from your Italian ports (I don't have the itinerary in front of me), I DO NOT recommend public transportation/taxis on your own. You may find what appears to be cheaper to start out with to end up very expensive at the end of the day if you have difficulty returning to the ship and miss the departure. It will be up to you, at your expense, to make it to the next port.
