Welcome to Cruise @ddicts sm8159. May I point out that the posts to which you're responding date back to 2002!!!!!! Now...a word of advice. August is THE vacation month in Italy. Many services are cut back. If you're travelling a good distance from your Italian ports (I don't have the itinerary in front of me), I DO NOT recommend public transportation/taxis on your own. You may find what appears to be cheaper to start out with to end up very expensive at the end of the day if you have difficulty returning to the ship and miss the departure. It will be up to you, at your expense, to make it to the next port.
