The Atlantis Sub and any of the Semi-Submersibles you would have to go down a steep narrow ladder. The Golden Eagle is said to be a pretty good size Cat so it should be pretty stable to board.

I also have some problems getting on and off the boats due to a leg brace and balance problem. Just ask for a hand and I am sure the folks running the tours will be happy to lend a hand.

We haven't been to Dominica yet.
Antigua -Historic English Harbor other suggestions- take a taxi tour including the harbor. Nice views and easy walks at the old fort.
Barbdos- Atlantic Submarine or Orchid World Tea at Plantation-other suggestions- Sub difficult to get into for able body's. I would choose Orchid World, however the one we went to (there are more than one garden @ Barbados) had steep decending walkways down into the floral jungle. It will be warm and humid too in this tropical setting. Why not take the Harrison's Cave tour? You will be seated in electric carts. We found it delightful. Again whether the gardens or the caves, you can do these by private van taxi tour @ about $30 plus entry fees.
St Marteen- See and Sea, Everthing Cool, Goldem Eagle how difficult to board? Everything Cool is a beach club and it is nice, but not necessary to purchase on board unless you want to play volleyball, dance to the loud music and drink $1 beers. It is right on the bay with a nice stretch of beach but there are many other beautiful not to be missed beaches in St. Martin. The see and sea might be nice, but getting on the craft may be something to consider. As mentioned, most vessels and crew will be glad to assist you. You can take a taxi tour of the French & Dutch sides of St. Maarten too with a stop at Orient Beach.
One look at St Thomas dock and the ship looks good that day. Again, take a jitney taxi tour of St. Thomas with many stops for fabulous views. Don't stay on the ship when you came all that way. At Mountain Top just have the driver bring you to the building rather than walking all the way down the stairs. He can drive back up to park.
Bon Voyage

Maw,

We hired a taxi driver in St. Thomas and he took us all over the island. It was a beautiful tour and the view from the mountain top is fantastic. I can hardly walk and had no trouble; I can't remember the cost, but it wasn't too much. The taxi stand is right by where the ships dock and so is the Havensight (?) shopping area. There are benches all along the way you can sit on when you get tired.

I would recommend a taxi tour in Barbados Maw as there are many things to see and do. Dominica might also be a good island to do the same. Not sure if U and paw are bach goers but if so then Antigua and St. Johns will afford U some of the BEst in the Eastern Caribbean.

Thanks guys I can see a glimmer of a plan forming now. I like idea of a taxi tour as we can move more at our speed and not slow down bus group. Some of those mini vans are hard to get in and out of too when too many in them.

Maw,

I have a great book, called "Cruising the Caribbean" by Laura and Diana Rapp. It has fantastic information on what sights there are, how much it costs to get there by taxi, private companies you can use, etc. You might also like "Caribbean Ports of Call - Eastern & Southern Regions" by Kay Showker. I originally found them both at my local library, but then ended up purchasing them I liked them so much. They give a good idea of what are the points of interest, and you can decide what you want to see, then arrange your own custom, private tour by taxi to see just those which appeal to you.

I'll bring them along on CH@OS, so if you read them before hand, but need just a reminder about something, they'll be available to you :)
