Elation - Porthole vs. OceanView - Christmas Cruise

Please help us to decide if it is worth spending the $60 extra to get an Ocean View 6C (Main deck, ok location); versus a Porthole cabin (Upper deck, good location).

We've cruised before but its our first time going on a Christmas cruise. Its also our first on Elation but we've done Fantasy and Imagination.

What would YOU choose if you were in the same shoes? I guess no big deal but just want to know how others will pick. You can also share why you will pick one or the other.

Thanks!

Been a long time since we have been on the Elation, but non the less it is a standard Fantasy class ship so Upper Deck with porthole would have to be extreme bow and if I remember would also be classed as an inside cabin even though it has a view for one. You mention that you have cruised before but have you ever cruised in a bow cabin?
First off, plan on feeling the waves if the sea gets a little choppy, second even if the sea is rolling plan on going up and down a lot, third don't plan on sleeping in on port days, the bow thrusters are better than fifty cents in a magic fingers bed.
But to answer your question, spring for ocean view especially if it is anywhere in the middle two thirds of the ship. In all honesty for me it would be a no brainer choice.
