We will be cruising on the Sea Princess Sept 25th from San Fran. The Sea will be coming out of a two week dry dock and was wondering anyone knew what time we would be able to board? Since no one would be getting off and everything should be ready to go, right? lol

Also any hints on the San Francisco port itself.

Thanks

San Fran was fine, no problems at all. It's nice to watch the golden gate bridge as you sail away
San Diego I would never sail out of again for many, many reasons. Their port is just awlful IMO.

You can get on (on a good day) by 11am or so. If you don't want to chance waiting, in case of a customs issue, don't show up until after 1pm.

Can't wait for Pier 35 to be torn down. Pier 27 will be gutted and rebuilt with great surrounding commercial establishments. It's about time, SF really needs to improve this area.

I always arrive around 10:30-11am. Check in lines are usually pretty short and they then send you to a waiting area. Boarding takes place usually at 11:30 but I've had it at 12 noon a time or two. If you get aboard early its a short walk back over to Pier 39 and fun to explore before you sail.

My tip on sailway is to stay towards the stern. It can be pretty windy/cold at the bow but more important to me is that you'll be looking directly into the sun for photos. At the stern you can take photos of the bridge with the sun at your back and SF in the background.
