We'll be sailing on the Pride out of Port Canaveral...rcvd my docs and check in begins at 1:30pm....

Seems like many of the posts I've read said they checked in around 11-11:30am...any thoughts on this? I'd hate to get there and have to wait 2 hrs. especially since we're traveling with a child!
Thanks for any info...I'm new here...seems like a great board!

My own personal experience with several different cruise lines is the time indicated there is the "worse case" scenario - the ship arrives late, etc etc. I personally have always arrived at the pier between 10:30 and 11:30 and have always been able to get through the check-in process and onboard by noon.

Of course, many circumstances could affect this, but if I were you I would get there earlier than 1:30 :)

Most cruise lines put a 1:00 or 2:00 boarding time on docs. The reallity is they start boarding shortly after the previous passengers have left the ship and customs gives the ok. The boarding time many times will actually be sometime between 11:00 and noon. Many passengers will be inline to board around 11:00.

What day are you going on this? I am also going on the Pride out of Port Canaveral, but not until June.

We also like to arrive by 11:00 or so. The way I look at it is the earlier I'm at the port, the faster my vacation starts! Out of the nine cruises we've been on, only once did boarding start at the scheduled time -- most of the other times we've been on the ship between 12:00 - 12:30. Either way, I'd much rather be at the port two hours early (even if I'm sitting on the floor waiting to board), than arrive later and stand in longer lines. If I can see my ship, I can be very patient! ;)

I would try to get there early and get in line. Once they start letting people on board you will be on of the first on.
