We will be leaving on 7/10 at Ballentyne Port. We will be staying over in Vancouver the night before, so we can get there at any time.. Our ship leaves at 5pm. What time should we get to the port. What is Embarkation like?

Ballentyne is getting better. It's a really big old warehouse that's been upscaled for cruising. Arrivals can drop at the front of the building via cab. It's the same as all big ship departure points. Timing means everything. Come early and wait until boarding starts/ come when the masses do and wait your turn or take your time and do mid PM and likely just walk right on.

Our rule of thumb for boarding is to arrive 1 - 1 1/2 hrs prior to the time the cruise line tells you they will allow passengers to begin boarding. We've always started boarding before the time they say as long as they are ready to go. You typically get your luggage right away by boarding early, you have the ship to yourself and it's a really peaceful way to spend the day!
