Of course, it is much smaller and may not have all the bells and whistles of the mega liners, but we took her for a Mardi gras cruise.......it was one of the best cruises ever..........

At first,I was worried I would get seasick cuz it would be bobbing around more cuz of its size............nope, didnt happen..........

I,for one, would gladly go on here again.........intimate and the the staff was wonderful.

I was on the Empress in September. It is a nice ship that has been well kept. It was originally designed for short bahama cruises so the cabins are on the small side with very little storage. However, we found our outside cabin sufficient as we spend little time there. The staff onboard was wonderful. The food was nice. Since it was a bermuda cruise, it didn't have all of the activities of the mega ships but I found the evening entertainment just as good. As far as movement on the ship - There was some going across the atlantic but that's to be expected regardless of the ship. But at most times it was similar to the larger ships.

What I really like is the size of the ship. It's so easy to get from one end to the other. I for one don't care for hiking through the promenade to get anywhere. I've read many reviews of those going on the 10+ carribean sailings and have enjoyed it. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask.

I know this is an old original post, but in case anybody is looking for more info on this ship and this itinerary...we took this trip couple of years ago. It was fantastic, except that weird rumbling that the ship does in the morning. You can search for that topic an get lots of engineers an engineer-wannabes giving opinions on that subject!

She was my first ship. It's all her fault that I am a cruise junkie and must take at least two a year now. I'm sure I speak for those on this forum who have also had the pleasure of cruising the Empress, I will miss her.

Too bad today's major lines are busy building bigger instead of better. I'd take the Empress over the Freedom-class any day.
