I have been to Ensenada too and found it very unappealing and dangerous. It's dirty and the begging never stops. I just booked another cruise with my travel agent and one of our stops is Cozumel. I asked her about the drug lord problems and she said that wouldn't be in that area it's a problem in the northern part of Mexico and she said that Ensenada is having a problem currently and the travel agency does not recommend any travel to Enseneda.
