Thanks Bob. You pretty much hit the nail on the head with what we would like to do. I have been on the Alaska State Ferry Website. The schedules are quite confusing. I was also looking into the smaller boats (14 to 20 passengers) they can get into places the bigger guys can't. However they look pretty expensive. Not that I want to go on the cheap, just don't want to pay more and get less. I really appreciate your help. I definitely will touch base with you when the time comes. Also want to get out there and ski Whistler/Blackcomb before the Olympics so that when I watch it on TV I can relate.
