Epstein-Barr Virus

My friends, has anyone ever suffered this virus? Seems I have it now, but the blood test shows I'm in recovery and there is nothing to do for it. I didn't even know I had it. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Seems I go from one condition to another. I'm beginning to hate myself.

Guess, nobody is familiar with this virus. Well, if anyone does know something, please let me know.

Ruchela,
Epstein-Barr is the virus that causes mononucleosis (often referred to as the kissing diesease). If your blood test says you are in recovery it is likely that the IGG was positive; this is indicative of a past infection. If your IGM antibodies are positive it is indicative of a current infection. WebMd is a good site for information.

Ruchela, EBV is associated with the herpes virus. It can lead to mono. What did your dr. tell you? It is "fairly common" and many people who have it don't KNOW they have it. Thoughts and prayers to you. DON'T hate yourself. I know 'what you are going thru" with "one thing after another." It can get very aggravating and really PI** you off! QUESTION your dr. and do some research. Keep us updated, okay?

Yup, it seems we slide from one thing to another. At least you were never affected by this, just a carrier, hmmmm? Take care of yourself, and let us know how you are doing.

Thank you all, I have been researching this, if I am in recovery, I must have this in me for a long time, and did not know it. All I know is I am always tired, doctor says that's part of it. He says I will be okay in a week or two, since I'm recovering.

I will keep you all posted.

Have you been running low grade fevers? I believe that is one of the indications. Hope that your feeling much better in a couple of days.

Yes, the fever is what tipped me off. I never get fever, it's always 97.7 -- it was almost 101 for two days. Now I seem to be getting back to normal, it's 98.6. Have no strenghth to do anything. Today I may just rest up again,. Wish I had a maid to do my laundry, LOL --

Thanks all.

Unfortunately, resting is just about all you can do right now. Sorry I didn't see the post in time to explain it, but smoose hit the nail on the head.

Thank you. I'm resting a lot, and the fever has gone down. I still feel very tired, that is part of it I am told by my doctors.

My niece has this and though I don't know a lot about the virus I do know she is tired a lot too.

Good morning. Yes, I'm tired all the time, and to add to my problems I am having a sciatic attack. I feel like a complete mess.

Hang in there, Ruchela...sometimes our bodies just go crazy on us. Sit back and relax and try to take it easy for a while. :)

Yep, wouldn't you know that is just one of the things I have had?? Back in the 80s before it was commonly known. Tests just show I had it, they didn't catch it at the time, but that explains a lot of my fevers, fatigue etc that were never explained back then. The gave me Nsaids which took down the fevers, and time took care of the rest. Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you all. Hopefully I will be okay by next week, at least that's what the doctor says. Holiday time is coming up, and don't want to miss being with my family.
