Caribbean Princess / Sept 11 departure..............I'm a big football fan (especially college) and was wondering if they have any places to watch ESPN and ESPN 2 and Fox Sports along with other sports channels. My team is playing on departure (oops, I mean embarkation), Saturday (at noon EDT) and I am debating if my fiance and I should get on board early or just wait and go to a sports bar in Fort Lauderdale to watch the game. (any good sports bars anyone knows of in Fort Laudy??

I read another review that the Cigar Bar on the boat had all 12 TV's on CNN 24/7 and it was muted. Sorry, but this doesn't work for me....I'm not on business!

Any help is appreciated!

I'd say the odds are slim they would have your game on. You have to factor in ESPN shows regional college games in different markets. That being said, I do remember seeing ESPN live broadcast in my room in port. So if you know for a fact the game your looking for is on that afternoon, you should be able to at least see it in your room. Never seen Fox Sports on a Princess ship, but that may be something someone else can help you with.
You also need to remember that several times throughout the week you may have the following items come up with ESPN: loss satelite signal, no satelite signal, loss of audio, and loss of video. This happens since your on a moving ship, and storms in the area that may block the signal.
Also, in some areas of the Caribbean ESPN is broadcast as Latino ESPN with very little USA sports.

That is one downfall about Princess Cruise Lines. We went on the Golden Princess last month and although they have a sports bar, the bartender said they only get one channel. I believe it was ESPN. A couple of years ago we went on Royal Carribbean Adventure of the Seas and there sportsbar actually had a satellite showing many different football games. It was great sitting around cheering for our teams and met a lot of great people.
