Hi, I am looking into a cruise to Europe with my daughter this coming July and would like any information someone might have, Where they went, what day trips they took, cruise line etc. She will be 18 and this is going to be a Mother Daughter trip before she goes to college and I want this to be a trip to be that she will remember forever. Any information I receive will be great. I will also be leaving out of Seattle Washington and would also like any information on International Travel, I have been out of the country and have a current passport, but this will be first time for me flying to Europe.

Thanks Korrina

First of all, as for flying to Europe, as long as you both have current passports you are fine, if your daughter doesn't have one yet, I would get one asap. Flying to Europe has only one draw back: the flights are all evening so unless you do well sleeping on the plane you will be very tired when you reach your destination. I like to suggest to my cliants that you fly in a day or so prior to your cruise; you can even do a cruise/tour package which includes hotel and air fare. You may not save anything by doing it that way, but it is nice to have a trip like that all in one nice little package.

As for cruising in Europe, there are so many options it would be hard to list: how many times have you cruised, what do you like to do; are you more formal or casual types? What about ports; would you rather split your time up between ports and sea days or do you like lots of ports and just a few sea days? Have you thought about what you would like to see? SOme lines do the Baltic route which includes places like Russia, others do the Greek Islands and some of the other ports in Europe. Another option is the western Med which will do France, Spain, England, Italy, places like that. What type of a budget do you have in mind or do you? I ask these questions cause these are the same one I would ask a cliant. Not knowing what you are thinking, and if it were me, I would consider a ship that does the Greek Islands (exciting for an 18 year old) with maybe a few other ports; second would be the basic western Med including maybe France, Italy and Spain. These are just thoughts. As for the cruise line; again, it depends on what you like to do: I think the three that would be best suited for you and your daughter would be RCI, Celebrity and NCL. All send some of their better ships to Europe for the summer. Hope this gives you some thoughts so you can start planning the big trip. There isn't much I enjoy more than traveling with my daughters.
