We are sailing on the Explorer of the Seas, Canada Cruise out of Cape Liberty this fall and have a few questions:

1) We like to get to the pier EARLY to be on the ship as early as possible. Is 10:30am to early to arrive at Cape Liberty and get luggage checked in, or should we wait till after 11:00?

2) We intend on driving up, and parking our car at the lot, are there any tips regarding parking that we need know about?

3) We want to take a case of bottled water on with us. Will they take this as checked luggage, or would we have to carry it on with us?

4) Upon Embarkation what time is the Mater d' usually available in the dinning room to check on table assignments. We have requested a table for two, and I would want to double check to see if we infact got it.

5) Similar question to #4....Upon Embarkation what time is the Mater d' usually available in Portofino's to make reservations?

I'm going in May so I will be able to answer your questions better then now, but in the mean time:

1. The Explorer usually comes into port an hour later than most other cruise ships. It's scheduled to dock at 8am instead of 7am so expect delays if you get there before 11am.

2. I plan on parking there to all I know is its $15 a day and credit cards are accepted.

3. I think you would be better off carrying it.

4. On my Navigator cruise I believe he was available around 2 or 3ish. You can of course enter the dining room at any time you would like and find your table corresponding to the number on your SeaPass card to find out if it is in fact a 2 person table.

5. As soon as you board. They had a table set up outside of Portofino's and were taking reservations right there.
