Explorer of the Seas - Grand Cayman or not?

Cruising on Explorer of the Seas western caribbean from december 5th.

Just got this email back from Royal Caribbean asking about if they are docking in Grand Cayman now, or what to expect of changes to our itenary.

"For the month of November, Grand Cayman is expected to accept two cruise ships per day, across all cruise lines. We are working with the Cayman port authority to confirm as many of our scheduled calls as possible for the next month. As we do not expect to get all of our previously scheduled Cayman calls confirmed, our highest priority is to confirm Cayman for the ships with the least attractive alternative ports, to minimize impact to our guests. While we would like to be able to announce the next month worth of information, the port authority is unable to confirm that far out. It is quite a task that the island is dealing with and we are currently working on a week-to-week informational basis. Please contact our Reservations department at 1-800-327-6700 or your travel agent as your sail date approaches for further information."

Anyone out there who are on the Explorer of the Seas in these weeks who can give a clue about what they are doing ???

Alternative port, or just another day at sea?

Would be sorry to miss out on Grand Cayman again (did so 2 years ago too due to weather conditions)
The stingray experience is one of our main reasons to go western caribbean again.

Please let me hear from anyone just home from western route with the Explorer or anyone leaving the next week, knowing if there are changes to the itenary for you.

I called RCI the other day to ask about this.... they said that their Voyager class ships have been going into GC, starting last week. I have looked at the port autority website and they have many days with 4, and one day (Nov 25th) with 5 ships scheduled. I cant imagine they would make that schedule if they are unable to handle the load.... but, who knows. We should know in the next week or two how its going from those who return from their cruises.

Im with you, hoping like crazy that we will get to stop. By the way, its a tender port... just so you know, since you menioned "docking".
