Cruised 4 times, but never on Carnival. Anyone been on Fantasy? Condition of the ship? Anyone have a balcony room on Veranda deck? A little concerned about cabin front and high on ship. Always sailed mid-ship and on a lower deck. Cruising 6/2/07 and wanting info from anyone whose taken this 5 day cruise out of New Orleans.

I like this boat...it's not probably the best of their fleet, but it's got its own charm to it. I have taken it out of Canaveral, so I can't give you a western Caribbean take on it.

We are on the Fantasy at the end of April. I plan to post a review when we get back.

Sailed on her from Port Canaveral last August. Great ship, good service and atmosphere. Personally, I would not pay the extra dollars for a cat 11 on Verandah Deck; incredibly small balcony, not at all private, partially obstructed view, etc.

My son and I are sailing on the Fantasy on March 24th. I am really excited about the trip! We have not decided what we will do in Costa Maya and Cozumel but it will probably be a beach excursion. I understand that the ship is similar to the Imagination and Fascination and I have sailed on both of these- enjoyed the service and the food! I thought the Imagination was in need of repair though.

Miracle 9-05
Inspiration 4-06
Fascination 8-06
Imagination 12-06
Fantasy 3-07
Valor 9-07

I've been on Ecstasy, Elation, Fascination and Sensation, all Fantasy class ships. I have enjoyed every one.

One of the design flaws of the Fantasy class ships are the category 11 cabins on Verandah deck. If you are forward, you'll be fine If you are further aft you will have an obstructed view. The further aft Cat 11 cabins on the Fantasy class have lifeboats in front of the balcony.

According to CCL's website V17 is not obstructed.
