February sailing question

I finally got my wife wanting to take a quick getaway in Feb. What are the conditions like on the deck on a day at sea in the Gulf? I know that closer to Texas it will be colder, but will it be warm on the deck further south we go?

We are planning on a 4 day on Esctasy on Feb 24.

I was on the NCL Jade in late February 2008. We went from Los Angeles to Miami. The day in Grand Cayman was great. The following day it started to get cool. There were noticeably less people on deck then the prior twelve days.

That was my experience two and one half years ago. I have no idea what it will be like for you.

Generally, the closer to the equator, the warmer the average temperature. However, temperatures are not just based on duration of sunlight or lattitues. pervailing weather patterns, and water temperatures and ocean current strenght have a lot of impact also.

Be prepared and pack a light windbreaker, just in case.

All depends on any cold fronts go that far south at the time of you sailing.
Same thing for Florida, it can be in the 80s and you can have a cold front put it in the 40s. Have to waite and see. Most years its OK, but you never know till a week before you go.
All our cruises out of Florida have been nice but last year was really cold, we had sleet the the day we boarded out of miami. Only time that ever happened.

We did a 5 day out of Galveston at the end of last January. Temps were noticeably warmer as we got halfway through the Gulf. In Progresso/Merida, the daytime temp was in the low 80's. We had a Mayan ruins tour and walked enough to work up a little sweat, but not uncomfortable in shorts. Cozumel was just as warm. On-deck activity was mostly during the southernmost portion of the trip, and pool temps were chilly!!!

Thanks for the info. We ended up booking a May 5th sailing on Ecstasy.
