Cruising on the Voyager in Feb, are you allowed to bring a bottle of wine onboard like Carnival lines, and does this ship have a shuffle boards?

Ahoy Hawkeye and welcome to Cruise @ddicts. :spyglass:

The answer to both is Yes but if you want to have your wine at dinner, there is a corkage fee.

I have been on four Voyager Class cruises and I know you'll have a wonderful time.

You are not allowed to bring any alcohol onboard any RCCL ships and that inc,wine...........and yes, there is shuffleboard...

from their website.

Q: Can I bring liquor (from home or from a port) onboard?

A: Guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports-of-call or from Shops On Board will be stored by the ship and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of the sailing.

Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume, provide alcohol to people under age 21, demonstrate irresponsible behavior, or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at their own expense, in accordance with our Guest Conduct Policy. Guests under the age of 21 will not have alcohol returned to them.

Hmmmm I guess they changed it. A few years ago on Explorer our table mates brought a bottle of champagne to dinner and shared it with us to celebrate their anniversary. I had the corkage fee added to my on board account.

Could be they ordered it ahead of time or their TA sent them a bottle.........if so, they still are charged the corkage fee..........

It wasn't all that long ago when you were still allowed to bring 1 bottle of wine per person on board. We did that on one or two cruises and had a party in our cabin with friends. Everyone brought a bottle of wine from home, plus we ordered extra on the ship. I believe they changed the policy after the Smith case when that guy disappeared off the ship in Europe.

Which date are you going?? My family will be on the Feb 7th cruise our of Galveston on the Voyager!! We did the same cruise last year on the Voyager and absolutely loved it. We too, brought two bottles of wine on board to drink in the dining room. They did allow it, however, like Michael Bandy posted, they did charge a corking fee!! Hope this helps, have a great cruise!!

We're looking at this sailing, too. We were on the December 13 sailing and opted to get off the ship since they cancelled the Roatan stop - the one we really want to go to.
Hoping there's no fog in February to detain us....

We were on a RCCI cruise a few months back and the answer is no in bringing any alcohol onboard

If you take me serious, it's your problem
I would definitely call the cruiseline and confirm that you are able to still bring one bottle on board per passenger. While they may have changed their alcohol policies, you may still be allowed to bring a vintage they do not carry on board.

I wouldn't attempt to bring on onboard until i confirmed it with the cruise line though. Attempting to "smuggle" it onboard could cost you your cruise. It would be truely a shame if you were refused boarding because of a bottle of wine.
