WOW! That's got to be the longest countdown clock ever set. 45 years???? LOL!

Enjoy. You have a long time to plan your excursions and pack... and unpack...and pack...

Hi Parrot Mom-
We are taking the Mille transatlantic in November. Definitely do a pre-cruise in Barcelona. It is a wonderful city to visit. You might want to consider 3 days. It usually takes a day to adjust and get on their schedule. This will be our third time in Barcelona. We did 2 days on our first and found that we really didn't have time to see all that we wanted. Last one we did a 3 day. We got tickets for the tourist bus - back in 03 it was 14Euros for a one day ticket or 19 euros for a 2 day pass. There are two routes that connect at a couple of stops. The bus stops at all the sights and you can get on and off at will. The buses run frequently so there isn't a long wait. You even get a coupon book for discounts on admission to the sights.
And you do have to walk down Las Ramblas and see the living statues. There are sidewalk cafes all along the street where you can stop and have a drink or a bite to eat. Dinnertime in Barcelona is late (around 10) but there are wonderful tapas bars where you can nibble.
