Hi Smyle,
We'll have to share any good tips/ideas we hear from others. Never having been on a cruise, I'm not sure what to expect--other than what I've read here and in a book or article or two. My hubby and I are relatively young-36 and 41, and we want to do fun/romantic excursions in the ports....heard about any good ones?

Congtrats and :cheers you picked a great ship for your first cruise :thumb The Century is one of our very favorite ships. Which cruise did you pick , is it eastern or western? One romantic thing to do on the ship is to go out on the promanade deck at night and look out at the ocean, it's beautiful. You will love the dining room onboard it is a two level one. Have a great cruise.

Our first cruise was the Century going to the Western Carribean and I think it was the best so far! The ship, crew, and itinerary was perfect in every way - or so it seemed. I think we were on the Penthouse deck (inside cabin). On our next two cruises, we have stayed in cabins with veranda and wouldn't do without one on our future cruises. We really use the veranda alot, to just sit and enjoy the breeze, the ocean, and relax. Have a great cruise!

Suzanne,

My hubby and I are young too, both 26. I've mostly researched online for ideas for the ports. I definitely want to do Dunn's Rivers falls in Jamaica; I've heard the private tours by both Peat Taylor and Phil Lafayette are good. We're leaning toward Phil's tour because he takes you tubing on a river afterwards. In Grand Cayman, Stingray City is supposed to be the site to see. I hear both Captain Marvin and Captain Bryan run really good tours there with some snorkeling stops thrown in. We're still deciding what to do in Cozumel, but I've heard Playa Sol Beach Club is a really fun place to hang out. Key West we've been to before so we probably won't book a tour or do anything too exciting there. What about you? Have you heard of any really good excursions/ things to do?

I have heard/read that the river rafting in Ocho Rios is amazing...that's what we're leaning toward there...and maybe some snorkeling if we can fit it in. In Grand Cayman...Stinray city is our plan...we don't know about Cozumel yet either. I will keep you posted if we decide about anything there...if you hear about a "must do" let me know. We may just hang out and shop and do the beach. We have 2 teenagers at home, so I will be looking to RELAX alot while I'm on this getaway!

We have been to Cozumel several times on different ships. The park on the island is very nice, with snorkling, a small recreated Mayan village, helmet diving (like being a spaceman and walking on the ocean floor 20 or so feet down, while others swim over you), dolphin and sea lion encounter and restauants. We truly loved the helmet diving, with free snorkel gear afterwards for the rest of the day. However, our favority Cozumel thing to do is to visit Tulum, the Mayan ruins overlooking the oceans. The ruins are incredibly interesting and the site and view are fantastic. If you re into history/culture, look at Tulum. Be aware, the Tulum tours are all day (approximately 8 hours), but well worth it. You might guess we are big into history and culture when we travel but Tulum is special to see and expereince.
