Hi, this is my first time on this site. I will be going on the Inspiration on 3/3 out of Tampa by myself. First cruise, all alone. Kind of a "happy 1 year divorce anniversary to me" present. First of all, love the posts. They are very informative!

I was just wondering if anyone has any solo-cruising experiences and if I should expect to be the loner of the boat the entire time. I'm not really there to hook up with anyone, I just need a break from the single parent life and need the relaxation. But it would be nice to meet people just so it's not all lonely.

Also, I read on another site that you can refuse to have a sign and sail card. Is this so? I'm on a tight budget and want to have some control over my expenses. I am planning on taking $500 for the trip with the knowledge that I have to pay for my tips (one person for 5 days) and probably a soda card (I don't drink alcohol and don't really plan on any excursions). I know, too many questions, but any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't supposed there's anyone else out there going on the same cruise solo, who might want to chat with me just so that there's one acquaintance on the ship???:daisy

Thanks for the info....can't wait!!!! 5 more days!!!!=docdance

Add your name to the cruise tracker. http://www.cruise-addicts.com/exchange/index.php

Plus Einstein will send you off in style with his Bon Voyage post.(which he does a fine job at but please dont tell him I said that :))

They will have plenty of activites that you will be able to meet people if you want. Also, you can meet people if you do a ship sponsered tour.

Using a credit card for your purchases is a lot easier IMO. I could be wrong here but they might require cash up front to pay for tips and incidentals. You can always pay off the sail and sign card at the end of the cruise.

You can put your cash on your sail and sign account. They will require you put at least $250 (I think) on it and will let you know if you exceed the amount. If you do not use the entire amount that you initially put on the account, they will give you a refund check on the last morning.

Great, thanks for the tips! That cash thing on the sign and sail card is a great idea. Just didn't want to use my credit card, I can get carried away when there's credit involved...rather know it's paid for when I leave.:lol

I hope you had fun. We enjoyed ours this past week. The CD, Risa, was a lot of fun...and from our hometown.
