Hi everyone! I've been reading for a couple of weeks, but am just now making my first post. These boards have been really helpful as we prepare for our honeymoon cruise! Thanks for all the wonderful advice! Thanks to your suggestions, we are now planning to pack Vaseline for my husband's moustache when we snorkel, a power strip, wrinkle releaser, a bungee cord, and SPF 50 spray sunblock (among other things)!
My question involves (not surprisingly for a first-time poster) attire for the dinners. I've read a lot of posts on the topic, and I keep reading that the first night is "less formal" because everyone just got on the ship and maybe hasn't unpacked yet. I'm taking this to mean that the first night is NOT a formal night (eg: suit for my husband, cocktail dress for me) although the usual rules apply (eg: khakis for husband, skirt for me). Is this accurate? What nights are usually the more formal nights? We just don't want to screw things up!
We're sailing next Saturday (Aug. 24) on the Carnival Triumph on an Exotic Eastern Caribbean cruise--I know from reading that having all of the information helps!
