Taking the family which includes two teenagers on a summer cruise on the Conquest. This is the first cruise for us on Carnival. Of course you hear many different opinions on Carnival but the wife and I like to try different lines. We have been on RCI, NCL, HAL so it was time for Carnival. Just looking for some opinions on Carnival... Think my teenagers will like it? They are excited about the pre-cruise stay in New Orleans. Comments anyone? :USA :AL

It is like any other thing in life. It is what you make of it. I have been on Carnival and Celebrity and found Celebrity more of a party atmosophere but that was ebcause I was in party mode. I would think they would enjoy it. Have a great time!

I have sailed on Spirit, Legend, and Fantasy with Carnival, and I have also done several cruises on RCI, Princess and Disney. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every cruise, and would gladly sail on Carnival again, especially their newer ships. I think you will find Conquest to be an excellent choice and I am sure the teens will love it also.

I have cruised on several Carnival ships. On each one, the teenagers seemed to be
having a blast. There will be plenty for them to do. Enjoy your cruise on the new
CONQUEST.

It is my understanding that the Conquest has expanded the activities for teen which is good for you. I have taken two Carnival cruises, the Fantasy and the Pride and now booked on the Legend. I have enjoyed each cruise with Carnival. You will have a great time!

I think you and your teens will be delighted at your choice of this new cruise ship next Summer. The cabins are larger, the food options are many, the Arcade should be great (Spirit Class is very good), pools, new teen center and nice ports for family outings.

Buy a soda card for the teens to save some money. They will like the water slide too.
One of my office associates and his family (2 teens - boy & girl) sailed on the Pride last Summer out of NYC. They loved it. They booked the Legend out of NYC for next summer as soon as they returned along with 6 other couples/family members.
Bon Voyage

Your teens are going to love cruising. I traveled with my son and his wife and three teenage grandkids. We also spent several days in New Orleans before the cruise. Went to the aquarium, French Quarter in the daytime, ate at Bubba Gumps, went to the famous voodoo house, the Riverwalk and had a great time. We stayed at the Embassay Suites which was just a short two block walk to the Riverwalk and the pier. We got up early Sunday morning to watch our ship come into port. What a sight and how excited that made us feel to know that we were boarding in the afternoon. The ship was great, voyage was great and the teens did not want to leave the ship as they had made so many new friends and experienced so many things together. They all exchanged e-mail addresses and will be great pen pals. You and your wife are also going to have a great time. Anticipation . Isn't it wondeful/

I think your kids will love the Conquest; they have their own program, and their own lounge with gameroom on Deck 5 where all the other things are "going on". I also think you will like the Conquest; there is a ton of things to keep you occupied; and the ship is very well designed.

My first cruise is arriving quickly. It's just sinking in now that I'm leaving on Saturday for Ft. Lauderdale to set sail on The Legend on Sunday. Question for everyone-How do you keep your suit / evening dress from getting all wrinkled in transit??? Or do you get it pressed once your on board?

War with U.S. and cruising

I'm a little nervous about the current political situation. We are cruising on January 25, 2003 on the Carnival Pride. QUESTION: Is there anyone on this message board who cruised in 1990 when the U.S. was at war with IRAN? Will it affect our holiday? I don't mean this question as a selfish one, I know war is serious, and having a holiday means nothing, but I just wondered. Thanks

Not unless you're doing a river cruise on the Tigres.......................

And yes that is a serious answer. Security will be tighter, atmosphere maybe a little
tense but over all should not see much effect with the exception that all tv's will be
on CNN

You can have them pressed when you get to your room or, if the clothes are ironable, you can use the irons set up in various parts of the ship for the passengers. Just ask you room steward. Beware, having your clothes pressed on the ship is much more expesive than it is on land!

Having sailed on Carnival 4 times as well as 8 other cruises on other lines, I can say that you and especially your teens are going to have a fantastic time. Carnival has received a lot of bad press in the past, but from my own experience it was in no way deserved. I have enjoyed every aspect of every Carnival cruise on which I have sailed. By the way Bikevegas; Rooooolllll Tide!
