Gosh, Sassy... If I knew Gayle would take such care and pay so much attention to your question, then I would have asked a wide-ranging question a long time ago!!! D Just kidding! I would like to suggest something that we have gotten fond of doing... On the first day of the cruise, get one of the little pocket maps of the ship from the Purser's desk. Then, starrting at the bottom of the ship, walk each and every corridor (OK, you could skip a couple of decks that are only cabins) and look to see where everything is. On our first couple of cruises, we found some neat places (a quiet lounge tucked away behind the dining room, or a cool observation deck) that we never knew were there. This walking tour helps you find where things are, as well as the best routes to take to get there (some ships are laid out better than others!). Make note especially of your dining room location, the main lounge (scope out some good seats for the shows), and a few interesting spots to hang out, relax, get a drink, sunbathe, oh, and play BINGO! On the larger ships, we have broken the walk up into two sessions, but we still do the whole ship if possible. And the exercise is good for you! If you are not big on walking up the stairs, it is a lot easier to start at the top of the ship and work your way down. You will have SO much FUN!!
