First time cruising

I am about to take my first cruise - my late husband would never consider doing this and so I am launching myself - sorry !

I am a bit nervous about travelling alone and also about NCL - I have been researching this company on the Web and have come across some very very scary stories

My travel agent is working on a 7 day trip on the Sun leaving from Miami

I would be most grateful for tips and tricks and any advice from anyone who has cruised alone

Thank you very much

I go with my husband, but did run into a few mom and daughter duos...one would go one way for the ports and excursions, the other something different. I find people quite friendly.....we've only cruised twice, 3rd one coming up on the Sun January 25, and only on NCL....it is our price range and have had a really great time. Seems to me it costs the same for one as for two, too bad you don't have a friend to grab or an adult child. I've been after my mom to cruise with me and my sister, but she's not into flying, so we are really limited to where we could cruise as we live in the state of Washington. If you pick the Norwegian Sun you will not be disappointed, it is a very nice ship, comfortable and not overly stuffy. Go forth and enjoy your life!!!

you know researching ahead of time is a great thing, especialy with the internet. but let me tell you as a first timer myself, you have to go and have the best time of you life and ignore those bad writeups as i believe some people go looking for the bad and you know they will find it. as for traveling alone i cannot help much as i will be with my lovely wife but suspect there will be all kinds of help for anyone needing it. soooo happy cruising and ignore any type errors as i do not get alone with computers that well. maybe you will be sailing jan25 out of miami to the warm carrabean on the sun and are welcome to say hello to us. i will be the one with a rum and pepsi in my hand...
