Hi Everyone! This will be my husband and I's first cruise! I have a few quick questions that I did not see on the other posts.

1) I know that there are fomal nights. My husband has one suit will that be enough or do we need to get something else?

2) The dining room is sort of business casual correct? Nice pants and a nice shirt for men? What about women? What is acceptable?

3) How long before you go on the cruise will you get your packet with all of the information? We leave the first week of August and I still have not heard anything or gotten anything from my travel agent.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Congrats on your first cruise! I'm sure you will love cruising...we sure do!

If you're going on a 7 day cruise you will have 2 formal nights. One suit will be fine for your husband. That's what my husband takes to save space in the suitcase. He just takes 2 different ties and we usually just send the shirt out to be cleaned after the 1st formal so it's ready for the second formal. Or you could just pack 2 different shirts.

For the regular dining nights casual is fine. Guys usually wear dockers and a nice button up shirt or a nice polo shirt. For the women a skirt and top, a summer dress or some nice capris and a top will be just fine. Just no jeans or shorts in the dining room. The only night you might see jeans in the dining room will be on the first night in case some haven't received their luggage in their rooms yet.

You should receive your cruise documents a couple weeks before you sail. We have received ours as early as 3 weeks and as late as 1 week before. I did have to call when we hadn't received them with 1 week to go and was assured they'd been sent out express mail. If it's getting close just give your agent a call.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thank you! Your reply made me think of a few more questions...for the formal do the women really wear long gowns or is more summer dresses? Also, if I were to wear a summer dress in the dining room would it be okay if it were sleeveless? Thanks!!!

YOu will see long gowns, cocktail dresses and church type dresses. The majority is long and cocktail length dresses. Typically the first formal night is more formal meaning if you have a long dress and a short dress I would wear the long dress for the first formal night. The sleeveless dress would be fine in the dining room but you may want some type of shawl of sweater in case you get cold with the air conditioning.

My husband does the same as Babuska's, brings one black suit, one shirt and 2 ties. We sent the shirt out to be cleaned.
