Coxumel & Belize are both great & Caymen is good too. Belize is a longer boat ride and Coz and Caymen you can go off shore. Don't know about Costa maya.

In Belize you cannot beat Shark Ray Alley --AWESOME experience!!!! Goff's Caye is good too (hear a company called coral breeze is good for do it yourselfers they have a website)
In Cozumel you can take a taxi to Chankanabb marine park ($10us per taxi each way...$10pp admission) snorkeling is great here. Snuba was fun, but if you really want an experience of a lifetime try the discover scuba tour...no experience necessary and you go down about 30ft.

Grand Cayman has a place called Eden Rocks just turn right and walk a few blocks when you get off the tender...it's snorkeling right from shore within walking distance.

Costa Mya has a beach just off the pier...saw some folfs snorkeling but I don't think there was much in the way of fish/reef.

hope this helps, e-mail me if I can help with ????
HAVE FUN!!!!!!

Goff's Caye in Belize - they take you out to a little island the size of a foodtball field in the middle of nowhere.. We were first time snorkellers so we just went right off the island, it was great. There was lots to see. We had a great guide that told us the names of the fish etc. More experienced snorkellers took a boat out to a different part of the reef. Afterwards we good buy a cold beer! I would recommend it. This was the highlight of out trip (partly due to Raoul, a terrific guide that told us lots about the area in the boat on the way over and helped my daughters with snorkelling)
