Flight carry on to port

This may be a really silly question. The carry on bags you take with you on your flight, when you arrive at the port this is when you place the luggage tags on with your cabin number, correct? What about names on carry on bags? How does one place names and addresses when most of these bags do not have name tags? I will be afraid they will get lost once I give them to the porter just with the cabin number on. Is this silly?Thank you.

You can hand-carry your bags to your cabin - which you should do if that is where your valuables, medications, cameras, etc are. If it is just back-up clothing bag and you are going to use a porter, you do need to add a name tag & cabin label to it. You probably should anyway, because some airlines are now requiring that even hand-carries be tagged. PS There ARE no silly questions on this board.

I always put my business card INSIDE every bag, carry-on or checked, in addition to a tag on the outside. That way, in the event that the outer tag should come off (rarely happens), there will still be an ID securely inside the bag.

I also use regular luggage tags on all bags, in addition to the tags provided by the cruise line. You can find these just about anywhere.

And it is not a silly question at all. :)
