Skagway is a very small town. I think that all the dog sledding is booked through the ship.I don't fish (especially for flys - yuck!) but you can ask the local tackle shops for information.I believe Katchikan can only be reached by ship or plane. So again, all the wildlife tours might be booked up by the ships. No one is going to fly to Katchikan for wildlife watching when you could do better out of Anchorage.
