How's the food on the Norwegian Sun? I read in a post that Norwegian Cruise Lines food wasn't very good and don't want to make a decision based on one opinion.

John, we were on the Sun last spring and the food was good to very good. My only complaint really was the buffets. Actually lunch was ok, but the breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired. The specialty restaurants were wonderful and the Tapa Bar? well you can make a meal out of the Tapas which is what Tapas are supposed to be. We never ate in the same restaurant twice (dinner that was) we never had a bad dinner. Of course some were better than others. The crew was wonderful, freestyle is the best and the ship is lovely. Cabins a bit small, but certainly plenty of storage and we had no complaints. I am not a big supporter of the west Caribbean, but would cruise the Sun again anytime.

I thought the food on Norwegian was excellent. Best selection of appetizers I've ever seen on any line. Yes, the buffet was a little weak, but you also have a choice at lunch to have BBQ ribs, chicken etc which was a nice change. They set up the bbq near the pool every afternoon. I think you will be quite happy with the food on the Sun. It's a great ship. Have a good time.

We're sailing on the Sun starting next Sunday, May 11th. If you want a review of the cabins and food let me know and I'll email you or post on here when we get back. We're going on the Inside Passage to SE Alaska cruise. The Transcanal will probably be their repositioning cruise when the leave here at the end of the "Alaska Season".

Just got off the Sun last week. The food is very good. Buffets could be improved. Eat your eggs at the omelet station and not on the buffet as they are powdered. They also have fruit station, pasta station and desert station. They also have barbecues and Las Ramblas does great deli sandwiches and soups for lunch so there is a lot of variety. And don't forget the dining rooms!
