In a recent thread, JoeSlotz and smeesq both said they didn't like the food very well on the Radiance. Anybody else have an opinion, especially about a recent cruise on the Radiance. How does the food in the main dining room compare with other cruise lines, including Carnival? Thanks.

We have found food on Carnival far superior to food on the Radiance. We were very disappointed with the food in the dining room.

Here are a few quotes from my review:

-- We had lunch in "Chops". This is the ship's Steak House. All I can say is "Thats good eatin!". --

-- We had lunch in the "Portifino". This is the ship's Italian Restaurant. The food was not my taste (and I like Italian food), I liked about half of it as did my wife.--

-- The Main Dining Room ... The food was usually OK to good depending on what you liked. There were several nights my wife ordered off menu. Nothing to right home about. --

Take what you will from it, but I did not say I disliked all the food. As for Carnival (an entire cruise line) being better than the Radiance (one ship), thats not a fair comparison. I have cruised on both Carnival and RCCL, all in all I found the food better on RCCL. But I have had both good and bad meals on both lines, bad meals being only a few.

I have sailed on the explorer of the seas & radiance of the sea both are royal carribean cruise ship, & i have also sailed on the celebration (twice) & Elation these are carnival ships. I have always favored the Carnival food over RCCL. But I do prefer sailing on RCCL more than on the Carnival. The Carnival ships food in the restaurant is more to my liking than RCCL, but on RCCL you can always order a steak if you dont see anything else on the menu to your liking. My husband always did that, and would order the steak almost every night.

Of course this is only my opinion, but I have heard others that prefers Carnival food over RCCL.
