I've been on the Celebration 3 times, twice when she was new, and a couple of years ago. I had a great time everytime!! Just keep things in perspective. The ship was built in 1987 and at the time was one of the largest at sea. Now it's half the size of what you are used to. There is no atrium, and generally, everything will seem smaller, because it is!! With ONLY 1400 passengers, you will get to know your shipmates. The last time we were on her,the crew was super friendly and helpful, the food was great, and the entertainment was fantastic!!

My advice to you, is to treat your cruise on the Celebration as a bit of nostalgia, how cruising was in the late 80's, and don't even try to compare it to the newer ships, which of course she could never compare to.

Enjoy!!

Jamman's advice is perfect.

I was on Celebration six years ago and had a great time and I'm sure you will too.

I have not sailed her in awhile...but we just sailed on her sister ship (the Holiday) and while they are not the newest and biggest...they still provide an excellent value for your cruising dollar.

I can tell you that if you like Southern Rock...the band playing in the side lounge is Dakota and they are excellent!!!!

Have a great cruise!!

Just got back from the Bahamas on Celebration. This was our first cruise and now we are addicted. We loved Celebration but we've never been another one. The staff was very friendly and the food was good too. The entertainment was great!

Happy cruising!

You'll love the old boat, sailed her april 05, staff great, food great, she's a bit small and a bit noisey entering the river on the return trip. Be sure you are starboard side on the way out, the st johns river is a great view. When she clears the navy base it's smooth sailing.A lot of the passengers are like regulars on that ship, very friendly.

I made only one trip on her wanted to do another before she goes to spain, don't think i can afford it sailing in 2 weeks on the glory again.

If your going to key west and doing the duval crawl start at Irish kevins, particularly if john smolmenski is playing. outstanding act if the crowd gets into it. we started with 5 couples in the bar when we left there was over 150 people in the crowd. dan

I sailed on the Celebration in June '07 and loved it so much I am sailing her again in 8 days! I absolutely LOVE the older ships -- so much easier to get around. I don't visit most of the clubs, I have simple needs so the smaller the ship the better.

The Celebration was very easy to navitate, she shows a little wear, but the crew is constantly cleaning and painting. The food was the same as the other ships, however, no specialty restaurant but the dining room food and staff were excellent.

THe only complaint I had was the ships drinking water tasted kinda funky so I drank the bottled water. Everyone says it's expensive, but at about $4 a bottle, I can spring for that!

Anyway, have a great time -- she's a grand old ship.

I just got back from going on this cruise and it was my first time, I have to say it was great. Staff is really friendly and goes the extra mile to make you feel safe and at home. make sure that you attend the information session on shopping, there is alot of give aways and freebie items.

On the same note: has anyone that has gone on this cruise tell me the name of some of the jewelry stores that are pushed by the cruise line?

Cruised on the Celebration Dec 1st. Had a great time. Ship is the smallest but nothing lacking in service. It's clean and doesn't look it's age at all.
