Hi gang,
Princess Sapphire - Alaska
I've read in Princess book that on formal nights, men has to wear either a suit or a tux. My husband is refusing it. Can he go with just a nice pair of slacks, a button down shirt and tie?
We're leaving this Sat (3 Sept). Has anyone been back recently and know what the weather is going to be like in Sept? Our detinations are Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and Victoria (plus Tracy Arms).

They won't refuse to let him in the dining room, but he will look out of place (at least they didn't on the Golden). He will get stares from some not so well wishers. You can also use room service or dine in the buffet.

OK great thanks. No worries on the stares for us, We're pretty thick skinned, and a few stares won't deter us from eating our lobster on formal nights. Thank you for the quick response, back to packing.

Don't worry about it... as long as he's wearing a tie he'll be in pretty good shape.

Dont even worry about it we were on the grand in december and our travel comapniions husband wore a oxford collared shirt, and dress pants, no tie and no one stared. as long as the men are comfortable you will have a great night if they are not comfy you will be rushing back to your cabin so he can change :)

it's a 50/50 on the tie...if you have one and you need it..........you'll feel better if he does'nt mind having it to wear..=shrug..takes no room...and it's with you..JMHO.. different itineraries..as in Caribbean ,Alaska, the Med...different Maitre'D's....:cheers, happy cruising....Joanne
