Looking for recommendations on good value CLEAN suite style accomodation near the cruise port. We are traveling with our grown family and their children so we plan on booking at least 3 rooms. Bkfast included and airport/cruise shuttle would also be a bonus.

Has anyone done bidding on priceline? and if so - what price and type of accomodation did you end up getting?

thanks

We always stay at the Embassy Suites 17th Street. Full delicious buffet breakfast every morning and the Manager's Special every evening. Back out the cost of the breakfast elsewhere and at least $4 a drink and the room rate becomes very reasonable. Plus it is a very nice place to stay. Close to the port. If you get the right room, you can see the ships at the dock, as well as see them coming in from their latest cruise. Google it. Rates are usually cheaper if you call Hilton direct or the hotel itself. The online rates are ususally higher than what you can get with a little sweet talking. Good luck.

The Hyatt Place in Fort Lauderdale would meet your needs. You can get it at an excellent price thru Valuetrips.com. It was recently renovated, has a shuttle for pick up at the airport and will take you to the pier. There is a breakfast the next day. Shops are close by as well for any of your last minute needs.

If you want to identify properties thru hotwire or priceline try betterbidding.com or bidding4travel.com Both are great for trying to identify properties. I have gotten the Renaissance in Fort Lauderdale thru both sites and was very pleased.

Whimsy is right about the Hyatt suites, it is much cheaper then the Embassy suites. The last time I stayed in Ft. Lauderdale I bid on Priceline and I got the Hilton for 89.00, free shuttle from airport, shuttle took us to dinner at the Rustic Inn Crab house and the staff were very helpful. The front desk printed our boarding passes (5) for us so we could go do some fun stuff instead of hanging around the hotel waiting for the time to print them. The Hilton did not have a free breakfast. The Embassy Suites is very nice and they have a great breakfast for free, but the last few times we have cruised from Ft. Lauderdale it has just been too high.
