From the RCI website ... (please note that there are colums, but I couldn't get them to line in in the cut and paste).

Q: Are laundry services provided?

A: Self-service laundry facilities are not provided onboard our ships, but we do offer full laundry and dry cleaning services. We do not provide irons in the staterooms as they constitute a fire hazard.

RCI usually runs a "special" where one day on the cruise they will do one plastc bag of clothes for a flat fee ( usually $20 ). Be sure you get the special bag from your room stewart, otherwise you will be charged the standard rates per item.

I was really hoping they had selfserv laundry on the Oasis of the seas. I can pack enough in a carryon bag as long as I can do laundry half way. But they charge too much for laundry service. Whats better airport luggage fees or laundry service fee part way through a cruise? I really don't like having to lug around so many clothes.

Well, we usually get a JS.....my wife throws the dirty laundry in the bath tub, throws some soap in then stomps around until it's clean. She dries it out on the balcony.

Well, we're in Gilroy now....we use a local stream and rocks to do laundry down here......

What the heck are you smoking this morning, San? I think all that smell of garlic is starting to fry your brain!!!:lol

The brain started to go a long time ago.........it's comforting not knowing what's going on around me.....less things to worry about.

Garlic is a stimulant, probably what keeps him moving. Though the last time I was through Gilroy the horseradish vapor was on the verge of becoming a hasmat issue.......................

When did they get streams in Gilroy, thought all the water was still being piped in from Nevada...................

Yeah bOB, you're right, the water does get piped in......but they put it in streams when it gets close to us so that we don't realize that it's imported.

Never smelled horse radish here.....but we do have all the mushroom farms up the road in Morgan Hill.....and you know what they grow them in....so it gets kinda ripe when driving north sometimes.

Hey, how'd I get the "founding member designation? May be PH will treat me with more respect now:cool:

founding member of this thread...................... well the original one.

We used to get the horseradish coming in where 152 comes into town, we always went down 5 and across on 152 on our way to Watsonville and that first mile coming into town was a killer, I think there were some processing plants if I remember, haven't been through there for several years so may well have changed.

Oh OK, now I know........Gilroy Foods [now Conagra] is about a mile east of 101 on 152. That is where they process all the garlic......that's usually the smell we get on warm summer nights. Nancy says it reminds her of going into the dining room aboard ship on Italian night.

We have a son that lives in Watsonville, so we go over Hecker Pass quite often.

I won't hold my breath, bozo......but, atleast now, I don't have to treat you with the respect I did prior to my higher status:)P) That's a huge relief to me.
