Fridge on Glory?

Can anyone tell me if the inside cabins on the Glory are equipped with a fridge? I'm bringing some "contraband" on board, and would like to know if I need to bring anything to keep it cool. Thanks!

We will be sailing on the Glory, too. If you have room assignment you can call Carnival and ask them if your room has a mini fridge.

We are booked for a category 6B on Lido. Carnival informed me when I posed the question to them that there is a fridge in our room. Maybe it is because it is on the deck with higher category rooms. I still suggest you call and ask Carnival. They pulled up the room specs and read everything in the room to me.

All cabins on the Glory have a fully stocked mini-bar. In order to use it as a 'frig' the contents would have to be removed.

Enjoy your cruise!

Take a cooler along as checked luggage with canned soda in it. The friends we went with on Glory actually called Carnival and asked if they could bring some soda and water on board. They brought one of those 24/can igloo coolers full of soda and water. The cabin steward kept it full of ice all week long. It workrd out great. I was really surprised at the number of people with coolers and cases of water when we were checking in.

WE ALSO BROUGHT AN EXTRA SUITCASE FILLED WITH A CASE OF WATER AND IT DOUBLED AS A SUITCASE FOR THE WAY HOME FOR OUR SOUVENERS THAT WE BOUGHT. WORKED OUT GREAT.

All rooms have mini-bars. We ask it be unlocked, placed CCL's sodas on the counter and placed ours in the fridge. We were able to keep a two day supply cold.

Do you think it would be alright to check in a small suitcase full of sodas, have the room steward unlock the mini bar and stock it with our sodas? Did Carnival charge you for their drinks in the fridge knowing they were on the cabinet? I just don't want to be charged for any of their drinks I would remove for the duration of our cruise.

Also, did you just carry your own sodas to the dining room and ask for a glass of ice? Don't want to look out of place or cheap.

We brought contraband back on the ship from one of the islands and we put it in the minibar. We ended up having a minibar charge at the end of the cruise and we never consumed anything out of the minibar. I had to go to the pursers desk to have it removed. I would check your bill carefully if you intend to use the fridge for your own storage. Also, I know that all of the cabin catorgories have minibars because we were in a cat. 8 and my father was in a cat.1 ( the pictures of the cat. 1 didn't do that room justice.....It was very nice).
Good Luck!!

Bring your own sodas to the dining room?
Come on, how much have you spent on the cruise?
Is another few dollars really going to matter?

I'm just speaking for myself when I say that I'm bringing 'contraband' on board to help defray the costs of my trip. I tend to spend nearly $400-$500 on beverages, shore excursions, pictures...all those cruise extras. So if I can save a few bucks by bringing some of my own beverages, I'll sure do it! Of course, I'll save the frou-frou drink making for the experts, but I think I can handle opening my own brew!

I'm with you, smashrox. Anyway to save a few dollars sure helps. Doesn't matter that you've already spent mega $$$ for the cruise itself along with any excursions and extras. Apparently iceman has an unending cash flow.

If you speak to your cabin steward and request that the minibar be emptied, he will take care of it for you. I'd give him a generous tip for taking doing so. He will also keep a cooler iced down if you ask. Again, a nice tip helps.

OOOH Cruzman...a cooler! That's an idea I didn't even think of. Have you done this? Did you bring a full sized one on board? I've got a mini that will hold about 6 cans. Am I allowed to bring that on?

Will, you are not serious about bringing your own drink to the dining room are you? I can see a bottle for the room, thats cool. Bringing a drink to the dining room, thats cheap!

I don't know how much pop costs where you live but its only $1.50 a can on the boat. I could see people bringing booze on board but would it really be worth the hassle to bring a heavy suitcase full of pop?????? I have to agree with Iceman bringing your own pop to the dining room is like bringing your own popcorn to the show. That is cheap. I'm not trying to offend anybody , I'm just being honest.

smashrox,
We just returned from the Glory this past Sat. We had an inside cabin, cat 4. The room did have a mini bar and we did ask for it to be emptied but the room steward said he couldn't do that but we could and place the items on one of the shelves in the closet. We didn't do this because we didn't want to get charged for anything. Our room steward did bring one of those buckects that you can buy at the lido deck (the bucket of beer) and iced it down twice a day and always kept 4 beers in it (we brought on 2 cases). The also kept an ice bucket filled so I had plenty of ice for the drinks I was mixing in the room. Even though we brought on our own booze, we still had almost a $900 sign and sail bill, and I had privately booked and prepaid all of shour tours. We ordered drinks/wine every night at dinner and spent money and ordered drinks in the casino.

Wow 2 cases? And you didn't have any problems bringing that much on? I'm a beer girl myself and thought one case would surely get me caught! Did you just pack it in your luggage?
