I need some advice and referrals to an inexpensive hotel to stay at the night before we cruise in February. We are flying into Ft. Lauderdale. I would like it fairly close to the terminal to avoid major $$ in taxi fees. Any help??

What time in February? We are having a very hard time finding anything for Bebruary 11, 12tth and the week after is even more expensive. The holiday Inn at the Convention center gives you everything. Shuttle from the airport/ shuttle to the pier/ breakfast easy distance to stores and shops, resturants. For our week its 169 bucks.

Im gonna try priceline and go for a hotel located at the airport for 50 bucks and pay the 20 to th e pier-- still alot cheaper then booking a hotel closer.

Yes, it is February 11th, holiday weekend. I was amazed at how expensive the hotels were!! I think I will try the LaQuinta as it offers free airport/ pier shuttle. That alone saves $$$ on taxi fair.

Feb 11th is a holiday??? What holiday will that be?
Laquinta is still showing at about 160 too.
Holiday Inn Express (convention center) has rooms for 136 plus tax

reviews on trip advisor are nice.

It's Valentine's Day weekend! That is allways busy, as a lot of couples celebrate at hotels and resorts.

I sailed last year the same weekend and was able to get a cheap hotel- Ameriasuites in Tampa for 99 bucks. I cant seem to touch that rate this year. I am sailing out of FLL this year but see affordabilty in Miami the following weekend which is Presidents weekend. ( a bigger holiday I thought)

We're staying at the Embassy Suites on 17th Street. Right hnear the pier, free shuttle to airport/port, free full hot breakfast, grocery store across the street to pick up some snacks, lots of restaurants within walking distance, etc.

Thanks everyone, I just booked my cruise and saw that it goes out of MIAMI NOT Ft. Lauderdale!!! So any thoughts about where to stay in Miami that is close to the cruise ship terminal???? We fly into Ft. Lauderdale and we are not sure whether to just stay close to the airport in Ft. and taxi to the cruise ship terminal in Miami or get into Miami Saturday night and taxi to the terminal there. Too many decisions, but anyone who has flown into Ft. Lauderdale but sailed out of Miami, if you could offer advise that would be FABULOUS!!

We fly into FLL to save tons of moeny when the cruise leaves out of Miami. I suggest you go to Miami and stay the night-- no traveling for cruise day makes you arrive refreshed.

We have used priceline for Miami and got the Hyatt. But I see that the Hyatt is now a 4 star place.
check www.biddingfortranvel.com to see what hotels are available in Miami
