Hi. Can anyone tell me about future cruice vouchers? It is a desk on ships but not all ships have this pacticular area to obtain a vouchers. How do you pay and how do you redeem them? We are on the Liberty March 28th and does this ship capable of selling these.

I appreciate any help thanks Cheryl

I'm pretty sure all ships have a desk for this. They sometimes call the person manning the desk the "Loyalty Officer" but I think that is on Royal Caribbean. Just check with the Pursur's desk and they will direct you.

I am sure they will have something mention in the daily paper on where you can buy "future cruise" vouchers. Princess you pay with your credit card at the time you buy one. This is your down payment when you book your next cruise, either at that time, or with a TA. I would arsume that Carnival would work the same way.

Hello All,

I can shed some light on this. I took a Carnival Cruise on Valor in September; they had the desk on this ship and I bought one of the vouchers (they charged my Sail and Sign card). Here is what I have been told by Carnival since:

1- The Future Cruise Vouchers Desk is only available on Conquest class ships (last month I was on Legend and there was no future cruise desk).
2- The way the program works is you buy a voucher for $100 and you can use the $100 toward the deposit on any Carnival cruise within the next 5 years.
3- When you book the cruise, you will also be given an on board credit of:
A-$50 on any 3-4 day cruise
B-$100 on any 6-9 day cruise
C-$150 or $200 (sorry, don't remember which) on any 10+ day cruise

I have not redeemed my certificate yet; however, Carnival told me this week that when I am ready to book, I need to call them, they will do the reservation on the phone and they will tell me where to send the voucher.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,
JTC

JTC, thanks for the info. Can you use a regular TA to book your next cruise or do you have to do the booking through Carnival?

Hi Thanks so much for the info. So you purchase a voucher for $100.00 and it is worth $100.00 So where is the deal? Did I miss something. Sorry.

The 100.00 is used as the deposit. So the upfront deposit is reduced. Okay with interest rates they way they are...so it is no deal :lol. But you also get a shipboard credit depending the length of the cruise.

Hi All,

I have a couple more thoughts on this matter. First, I am not sure if you can use a regular TA for this, I never asked Carnival that. Also, the deal is the onboard credit. My understanding is that when you book a cruise it will go something like the following scenario:

1- Cost of 7 day cruise: $2000.00 (this is an example)
2- Normal required deposit: $500
3- Deposit when using the voucher: $400+ voucher
4- Amount remaining: $1500
5- On board credit of $100.00

So in the above case, your $100 voucher actually has a value of $200. Of course, I can give you more specifics after I redeem my voucher

Thanks,
JTC

Be careful, I purchased one and found out after the fact that they cannot be combined with military discounts. They honored the 100 as a deposit (per cabin) but were not going to give us the on board credit. With persistence, Carnival made it right by honoring the onboard credit. We'll let you know how well it goes when we go on the Valor on April 19.

Thank you everyone for your responses. We are hback and the Liberty was great. We had perfect weather and a great vacation. We did purchase a coupon for 100.00 and its worth 100.00 on ship board credit. So again thanks

You might check into it a little further. On Princess you used to be able reserve your cabin with JUST the $100 vouncher.

For example, if the cruise costs 2000, you can hold the cabin with just the $100, but come final payment time, you own ALL the rest of the money. $1900. Kind of a big hit at the end.

(At least that's the way it used to be. Haven't looked into it for a while.)
