We are a family of four sailing out of Civitavecchia to the Eastern Med on 7/12. Is anyone else out there sailing on the same cruise? At this point, we are in a Sky Suite, and the kids are across the hall. Our daughter is 19, and our son is 17.
Ports in Greece are Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes and Piraeus. Other ports are Taormina, Dubrovnik and Naples. I would love to hear from anyone regarding their best advice for things to do in these stops. Traditionally, we don't do ship shore excursions, preferring to do our own thing with research ahead of time. We all snorkle, so I wonder if anyone has suggestions for that in the Greek Isles?
Also, if anyone has any advice on some stops to make en route to the port from the FCO Airport in Rome, I would love to hear about it. We are planning to rent a van with a driver to meet our 7:45 a.m. arrival at FCO and take us to the ship which doesn't sail til 7:00 p.m., so it would be nice to be able to go and see something before going to the cruise.
