HI ALL!
CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS ABOUT CABIN 4170 (CONTINENTAL DECK) ON THE GALAXY??
I KNOW THAT THERE ARE SOME CABINS WITH POLES INSIDE.
THANK YOU.

Poles? I have never heard of a that. Maybe on some older ships. Are you sure?

That would be the Nina, The Pinta and the Santa Maria with Captain Columbus that has the poles in the cabin. You never know what you will discover on one of these cruise ships.

Actually, I first thought he meant that the ship had a lot of passengers from Poland:)

Stefy14,

Looks like you may be correct. But you have to admit it's an odd thing. Also, look carefully at the way the double bed is made up. Just pray the poor person next to the far wall doesn't have to make a quick run to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

I spoke to a senior supervisor at celebrity. They claim they did hear about these cabins in February. She said they were going to pull these cabins out of service for passengers and use them for crew, or entertainers etc. But she said they dropped the ball. She said they are only on Plaza deck and in cabins 5059 5060 5050 and 5066. I am not fully convinced they still know what they are talking about. So good luck with your cabin.

Frank,
Thank you for your nioce replay and your interest about my dubts...
To say the true I write from Italy, and as you shoould know cruise market over here is risieng since a couple of yeras and I keep in touch with the specialistic cruise sites and asking help to cruising people.
I cruise since 15 years, and I was on board Celebrity 3 times and I choosed outside and inside cabins and it's my opinion that they are the best of the others of the same level cruise ships.
For now I booked an inside cabin (cat 12 ) for both med cruises for the next august.
Thank you again for your informations.

Some cabins contain pull down beds to allow a 3rd or 4th person in the cabin. These can cause bumped heads. You soon learn to lean over when getting out of the bed below the pull outs.

there are no polls, but I would advise against this cabin. You are right on the boarder line of where there is engine noise. We were in 4174 on Galaxy and it was incredibly noisy. Fortunately, after 4 days of no sleep, they moved us. 4170 wouldn't be as bad as 4174, but it is boarder line. I would never take a cabin that far aft on the Continental deck of a Century class ship again!

It's time to relax now and start thinking about how much fun you will have. I'm going on the Mecury myself in January. One last thing... I always bring along those small foam earplugs. I have found that nearly ever cabin has it's share of squeaks, creaks, and noise.
