Anyone have any advice for a first-time Transatlantic cruiser? It's 16 nights total (the last cruise that Celebrity will do out of Galveston).

We stop in:

Key West
Nassau
(5 Glorious days at sea)
Azores
Lisbon
Rome

I am so excited but a little apprehensive because the only other cruise I've been on was a HAL Alaska trip which was FABULOUS. The Celebrity reviews seem a little mixed (with nothing horrible, just not always outstanding). We're doing an inside stateroom guarantee deck 9 or above.

I can't wait!

Hi Jodi,

We have been on five or six TAs, and really enjoy the mix of port calls and sea days. Celebrity has an enrichment program for their longer cruises, that provides for some interesting entertainment on the sea days. We have had explorers, entertainment celebrities, sailing and liner experts, film producers, financial consultants etc. as lecturers. They make an extra effort to provide an interesting program for the TA passengers.

The Galaxy itinerary is really interesting, with tropical, mid Atlantic and European ports of call, and lots of time to rest up between excursions. You will also enjoy the extra amenities that Celebrity will provide to make your trip all the more enjoyable. We haven't sailed on the Galaxy yet, but all of our cruises with Celebrity have been notable for great service, excellent food and good to excellent entertainment. I feel confident that you are in for a wonderful experience.

Jodi,

I agree with Petert. You'll have a fine cruise. I have sailed on Galaxy and think she's a fine ship. And, even though there are obviously mixed opinions by people on nearly any subject you choose -- including Celebrity -- you will very likely have a fabulous cruise. You might be comforted to know that Celebrity has much in common with HAL -- both put a premium on good food, service, and a gentile atmosphere.
