Girls: should this fella take his tux on a Carnival cruise?

There will 2 'formal' nights on our Canival Spirit to Hawaii.
I'm getting the impression that tuxes are not worn much these days. And Hawaii is a very casual-clothes destination.

I don't mind wearing a tux, but I don't want to be the only penguin in the middle of the Pacific!

What do you think?

You don't have to wear a tux to fit in. My husband has worn a nice suit the last few cruises we've been on and he's looked just fine. As a matter of fact I think more men are opting for suits than tuxes...at least that's what I've noticed. But if you do opt for the tux I don't think you'll be the only "penquin" out there! You will still find some men wearing the tux.

I have my own tux and I only wear it on cruises. Beach bum by day, James Bond by night. I enjoy dressing for formal night. To me it is part of the overall cruise experience. You won't be the only one so I say go for it.

=funsign on your cruise.

We haven't been on a cruise yet where there haven't been guys in tuxes. They always look so nice, too. I like what MBandy said...be a beach bum by day and a James Bond by night, too!!

I say take it. You're asking the women, and we can't resist a man in a tux. ;)

In all seriousness, you'll find people dressed more casually, but you won't be the only one in a tux.

The last two cruises I have been on I just wore suits. This next cruise I am going on in Nov. I plan on wearing a suit too.

My rule from personal experience...It's always better to be over-dressed than under-dressed. People will be jealous, especially if your tux is pastel blue with a big bow-tie, and ruffles.......
