We will be taking the Glory in Oct, '04. I know it's early , but I am trying to get our flights picked out. We want to fly in on the day of the cruise.

Does anyone know what time boarding starts at Port Canaveral?
We will likely use Carnival's tranportation from the airport to P.C. and we want to get in as early as possible.

Any tips on speedy embarkation would be appreciated too.

Thanks to all who post here. You are a tremendous resource.

hi there. If I were you, I would go the day before. On my last cruise in December 2000 we were set to fly into New Orleans 2 days early, and the flight was delayed because of snow not in our location, but further down our route. We were delayed for 7 hours. If this would have been the day of our cruise we would have missed the ship. Now I am not saying that it will snow in Oct. although, I live in Colorado and it has happened, but you never know what you could run into. What if one of your bags gets lost? You need that extra day to find it. We are leaving on a cruise this Sunday 12/14, but we are flying in a day early. It is costing us $100 extra for a room, but I would rather have that piece of mind instead of being in a panic about missing the ship, so the $100 was worth it to me!

We just returned from the Glory. Embarkation started shortly after noon. The only tip I can provide for this process is to be patient as the lines will be long; however, it moves rather quickly. I would recommend flying in the day before. We drove in on Friday and stayed overnight at the Radisson at the Port. The cost is approximately $80 plus tax. They have a shuttle to and from the ships which you sign up on a first come first serve basis. The earliest shuttle we could have gotten was 1pm. So, we opted to take a taxi to and from the ship which was approximately $12 each way. Well worth it because the parking is a nightmare at the Carnival area.
